Hot Wing Whistle

As a person who loves camping and hiking, I wanted to create a collection based off survival. My take on the classic sleek sterling silver whistle. I asked myself; what would make a whistle while surviving in the wilderness? I researched wood whistles and then came across an article that said bones make the best whistle and that is how whistles were made back in the day. I was starting to think, how do I make a silver bone whistle? Do I carve a bone? It wasn’t until I was craving hot wings that it dawned on me to make a miniature bone whistle. My delivery order of Hot Wings arrived and I proceeded to boil the bones and figure out how to make a whistle. I decided to take a mold of some bones and try to fabricate a whistle in wax and silver form. Long story short, my experiment worked and the MDW Hot Wing Whistle was born.

Whistle is oxidized solid sterling silver. Each whistle is made with its own custom reed. Measuring approx. 1 1/2″ long and 1/4″ wide, and is hand made and fabricated.
